Founder & Director — Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist

I have met countless frustrated parents — clients, friends, and lecture audiences — who express a common wish: If only this child came with a manual.

In my professional life as a therapist, and in my personal life as a parent, I meet people who are struggling. Many of those challenges could have been prevented or eased in childhood. The Uncontrollable Child is built on dialectical behavior therapy, a model that broadens the mind and worldview. It is highly effective for children who struggle with impulse control and emotion regulation, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis.

As the founder and director of The Center for Cognitive & Behavioral Therapy of New Jersey, I also founded and direct InReach Behavioral Health’s Intensive Outpatient and Adult Partial Programs, which provide culturally sensitive, high-quality mental health treatment in Lakewood, NJ, and beyond. My areas of focus include severe emotional and personality disorders, anxiety in teens and adults, and parent training.

I am a seasoned lecturer on CBT- and DBT-related topics, addressing parents, clients, and professionals. I am presently focused primarily on supervision, education, and consultations.

"I truly believe that The Uncontrollable Child, with its treasure trove of valuable skills, has the potential to help countless struggling parents."
